Malta

Christmas in Malta
Malta is a Southern European island country consisting of an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea.
The average temperatures for December range between 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, although with the high humidity it can feel a lot colder than you’d think, especially in the evening and during the night.

Christmas is celebrated with a lot of decoration, festive activities and events... Most of the shops stay open late because everyone is shopping their Christmas gifts. Houses and roads are decorated with all sorts of lights and Christmas decorations.

Valletta and Sliema are definitely the most festive cities on the island.
The streets are lined with carts, selling a wide assortment of different foods as well as the more traditional sweets and delicacies.

Join the congregation at St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta for candlelit carol singing and the Christmas highlight, the annual pantomime held at the Manoel Theatre, which is popular for children and adults alike.
Combine these pantomimes with other Christmas traditions in Malta such as life-size nativity cribs, artisan markets and all the typical festive delicacies and you will be in for a Christmas like no other.
